Who can use MD Care?
MD Care treats patients who are physically located in Florida at the time of their visit. Florida law requires this because our clinicians are licensed in Florida. If you're traveling outside the state, please wait until you're back to book.
Do you accept Medicare?
Yes. We accept Medicare for primary care and urgent care visits. Coverage depends on your plan, so we'll confirm your benefits before your visit.
What if I don't have insurance?
Yes. Without insurance, you pay our listed prices, with no surprise bills.
What does a visit cost?
A video visit is $50 without insurance. If you use Medicare, you pay your plan's share, which is often less. A message-based visit, where one is appropriate, is $20. Renewing a medication an MD Care clinician already prescribed is $5. Lab work is billed separately by the lab.
What does the weight-loss program cost?
Without insurance, it's $120 to start, which covers a full intake visit with your history, assessment, lab work and plan. Check-in visits after that are $50 each. Medication is billed separately. If you have Medicare, your cost follows your plan instead.
Is there a membership?
No. There's no membership and no monthly fee. You pay for the visit you have, or use your Medicare benefits.
How does primary care at MD Care work?
You book a video visit with a Florida-licensed clinician who reviews your history, current medications and goals, then agrees a plan with you. From there you stay in touch for check-ins, prescription renewals and lab work, without going back to square one each time.
How quickly can I be seen?
Most patients are seen within three hours of booking.
Are you available on weekends and holidays?
Our scheduled hours are weekdays. We don't offer weekend or holiday appointments yet. If something can't wait, go to an urgent care centre, or call 911 for an emergency.
Can MD Care prescribe medication?
Yes. When treatment is medically appropriate, your clinician can send a prescription to the pharmacy of your choice.
How fast can I get a prescription refill?
Same day. If you need more of a medication an MD Care clinician already prescribed and your clinician agrees it's appropriate, it goes to your pharmacy that day.
Can you order lab work?
Yes. Your clinician can order routine and specialty labs through Labcorp or Quest Diagnostics, so you can go wherever is convenient. The lab bills you directly, and Medicare often covers it.
Can I be treated without a video call?
Most visits are by video, because seeing you helps your clinician decide safely. For some straightforward issues a message-based visit is enough, and follow-up questions can usually be handled by message.
What if I need to see a specialist or be seen in person?
Some things can't be handled by video. When that's the case, your clinician will tell you directly and refer you to in-person care.
What do I need for a visit?
A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera, a stable internet connection, and a private place to talk. Have a list of your current medications ready.
Is my information private?
Yes. We protect your health information as required by HIPAA and use it only to provide and coordinate your care.
What if it's an emergency?
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. MD Care is not for emergencies.
